Emilia Romagna Little League wins the sixth European and Africa Regional Championship of Italy, will play in the 75th LLBWS
He will participate in the Lega Piccola Emilia Romagna (Bologna, Italy) 75Th Little league baseball anniversary® World Series next month after defeating the Southern Czech Republic Little League 4-1 in the European and African regional championship. After falling 1-0 against the Czech Republic at the start of the regional tournament, Emilia Romagna rebounded in the LL championship game to win Italy’s sixth away trip to Williamsport with an overall record of 4-1.
In the first match of the tournament, Emilia Romagna had the opportunity to play against the outgoing LL Ukraine, sanctioned by the Lega Piccola.® International competition team to participate in the event despite the absence of the regular season due to the current war. After the match, the two teams came together to create an image and memories throughout the match that will last a lifetime.
With the win, Emilia Romagna LL now have five of Italy’s six appearances at the LLBWS and have represented the region in all but one of the events since 2016. Emilia Romagna LL recently played in the 2019 LLBWS with a team of four players. The 12-year-olds were the youngest players in the entire tournament, including two 10-year-olds.
The championship of Bologna, Italy won the Europe and Africa region in the Little League division this year when the baseball team joined the Emilia Romagna softball team that recently qualified for the Little League Softball tournament .® World Series a Greenville, Carolina del Nord.
The Emilia Romagna Little League will face Asia-Pacific region winners Fu-Lin Little League (Taipei City, Chinese Taipei) in Game 5 of the LLBWS on Thursday, August 18 at 1pm ET at Volunteer Stadium.
