Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock sent an ironic dig at her Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto after the Finnish soccer team lost 3-0 at the European Championship against Germany.

“Sorry, dear @Haavisto, that the @DFB_Frauen played such efficient football again tonight at #FINGER. But soon we’ll be playing together in Team NATO. I’m looking forward to the quarter-finals! #WEURO2022,” said the Twitter channel Green politician (41).

EM 2022: Germany in the quarterfinals against Austria

The DFB selection also won their last group game against the Finns, who had already been eliminated, at the European Championships in England on Saturday evening.

In the quarter-finals next Thursday (9:00 p.m.), the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg will meet the Austrians.
