Deportivo Independiente Medellín is still active in the transfer market. The negotiation that was directed by Juan David Mosquera to the MLS came to an end this Wednesday, July 27, when the Antioquia club confirmed the transfer of the 19-year-old right back to the Portland Timbers.

“Juan David Mosquera López, the 19-year-old right-back, will continue his career with the Portland Timbers of United States soccer. After several weeks of negotiations, the definitive transfer of Juan David to international football has been given,” the club said in a statement on its website.

Mosquera was born on September 5, 2002 in Cali, he had his beginnings at the Sarmiento Lora school, being part of the Valle Selection on several occasions and where, thanks to his good performances, he was observed by the scouts of Deportivo Independiente Medellín. In 2018, the winger joined the basic forces of the Antioquia team, there he was called up to the Antioquia Youth National Team, where he won the National Interleague Tournament and the Colombia Sub 20 National Team.

For 2020 he was promoted by Professor Aldo Bobadilla and had his debut on February 7 of that year against Patriotas. Juan David participated with the red shirt in the League, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, he was also champion of the 2020 Colombia Cup.

With ‘Cachi’, there are already nine confirmed departures from Medellín for this second half of the year: Bryan Castrillón to Unión de Argentina, Sebastián Hernández, Edwar López to Once Caldas, Miguel Camargo to Tauro de Panamá, Ever Valencia to Envigado FC, Stiven Rodríguez to Sri Pahang from Malaysia and Juan Manuel Cuesta and Juan Pablo Gallego to Aldosivi from Argentina.
