De’Riante Jenkins is a new player in Trapani Basketball

Pallacanestro Trapani announces that it has reached an agreement with De’Riante Jenkins, American wing guard of 196 cm and 83 kg.

The Chicago native has accepted the annual proposal of the Trapani Basketball.

Regarding the arrival of the second USA, the managing director Nicolò Basciano commented as follows: “Jenkins is a player we strongly believe in and who has a great desire to try his hand at our championship to grow further. We have set up a US couple that will guarantee us points and substance and help us achieve our goals”.

These are the first words of the athlete after the official nature of his agreement with the club of president Pietro Basciano: I am happy that Trapani has taken an interest in me. THE BOARD

Wing of 196 cm, born in 1996, Jenkins is gifted with excellent versatility and capable of attacking the iron and has a good hand from behind the 6.75 bow.

His sporting career began as an American football player where, while holding the role of quaterback, he pushed forward in the race, going to touchdown. He also reported characteristics when he decided to devote himself exclusively to basketball. In 2013 he won the state title with Lake Marion High School.

Following his success, he closed his high school career at the Oldsmar Christian School in Oklahoma and at the West Oaks Academy in Florida.

Before starting his college career, Jenkins excelled at Hargravee Military Academy with an average of 22 points per game. He is then selected by the VCU college, but in his rookie year he is very unlucky due to a foot injury that allows him to play only fifteen games.

In the second year, however, he manages to improve his statistics starting to become a reference point for his team with an average of 12.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

In 2018-2019 Jenkins conquers the NCAA title, with averages that have confirmed the trend of the previous season and is nominated in the hird Team All-Atlantic 10.

In 2020, before the covid, he closes his last season in college with 28 games played and the double figures guaranteed in terms of realization.

Last season, Jenkins signed his first professional contract, deciding to move to Europe and specifically in the Swedish league with BC Luleå. The numbers collected by the player who grew up in South Carolina are excellent. He averaged 17 points, with 39% on three-point shooting, spiced up with over 4 rebounds and almost 3 assists per game.
