Christophe Galtier signs contract with PSG for the next two seasons | French League

End to speculation on French territory. Christophe Galtier has signed as coach of the Paris Saint Germain by next seasonsas reported on Monday by several local media.

The Qatari-owned Parisian club will officially present its new coach at a press conference that will take place this Tuesday at its stadium in Princes Park From the capital.

Galtier, 54, arrives from Nice, to which PSG paid an unspecified amount (but which could amount to several million euros) to release him from the last season of his contract. He was previously at Lille, where he won the 2020/21 league ahead of the mighty club, in a season in which he managed to impose team play on the cast of glittering Parisian stars.

Galtier then succeeds Mauricio Pochettino, who spent less than a year and a half on the Parisian bench. Arrived at a PSG looking for a brilliant game like the one he had developed at Totenham, the Argentine did not achieve his goal.

Although he won the 2021/22 league without problems, his failures in the Champions League, especially this season’s disaster at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid, ended up condemning him.

Club and coach closed last week an economic agreement for the dismissal of the coach and his team, who have one season left on their contract, for an amount of around 10 million euros.
