Veteran free agent Carmelo Anthony could make it to the Golden State Warriors, Heavy.com’s Steve Bulppett reported.
Bulpett said the Warriors are looking for a scoring veteran off the bench and “Melo” would be ideal in that regard.
Carmelo Anthony, 38, averaged 13.3 points per game and 4.2 rebounds for the Lakers last season, showing he can still make a big contribution coming from the second unit.
The fact that adding Anthony only requires a contract for the veterans minimum would make it easier to add him to the current champions.
The New York Knicks are the other team that has been linked to possible interest in Anthony.
Carmelo lived 7 very solid years in individual statistics in the Knicks, but not in collective successes, leaving 24.7 points per game, 7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 44% shooting from the floor and 36% in triples. His return will not only boost the marketing of the team, but could work in sports.
For many analysts and fans, it is surprising that the Lakers have shown no interest in having him again for the 2022-23 season.
