tournament draw

On court No.12, the Colombian duo reached a semifinal round for the ninth time in a Grand Slam tournament. It is the second time at Wimbledon and when they stepped into this round in 2019, they were champions. The other known territories in this penultimate phase of the tournaments have been once at the Australian Open during 2018, four times at Roland Garros and twice at the US Open. The balance is three wins and five losses. Losses come every time they hit them in Paris and once in New York.

The road to a new semi-final

As the No.6-seeded pairing in the draw, they had had a very good feeling having won their first three matches against Humbert-Mannarino, Borges-Cabral and Albot-Basilashvili without having succumbed in any sets. The service was essential for the Colombians in this match where after 64 minutes they were with an advantage of two sets to nil. They did not have to face any type of break ball in those sets with them knowing how to find the opportunities they had in an ideal way.

The first break balls they had to face against were in the first game of the third but they saved it. It was a partial that was very close and the Americans were able to pull it off in the tie-break. A few minutes later, when the duel seemed like it could go on much longer, they had to withdraw due to physical problems. A couple that had shown very good conditions but had to stop in the quarterfinals and in the worst possible way. So, Cabal and Farah are already in the Wimbledon semifinals.
