Boxer Andy Cruz expelled from the Cuban sports structure

Due to the recent events surrounding the cuban boxerAndy Cruz, and his link with an attempt to leave the island illegally, the National Commission of the discipline in Cuba reported through its official channels the expulsion of the Olympic and world champion from the sports structure in the country.

After the controversy over his absence in the debut of the Cuban boxing squad against professionals, Andy Cruz spoke in early June about his current status and plans for the future.

The Antillean multi-champion, one of the leaders of the island’s national squad, was at the center of the controversy due to his absence from the cap made in Mexico, something that generated an intense debate on social networks and the media.

Then, prior to the start of the “Playa Girón” National Boxing Tournament, Andy Cruz did not show up and, what was initially thought to be his departure from the country for the Dominican Republic, was later confirmed to remain on the island. , after the exit was frustrated by the authorities.

according to the newspaper JIT, The National Commission informed in an official note about the decision of the decision makers in charge of analyzing the situation of Andy Cruz. “The measure has been adopted due to the repeated indiscipline committed by him, including his absence from the training sessions prior to the 2022 Playa Girón National Boxing Tournament and his non-intervention in that event.”

Likewise, the note indicates that during the analysis process other factors were taken into account, such as “his absences and late arrivals to training, absences from his teaching activities, marked by a notable decrease in his academic performance, and the way in which who turned his back on the commitments made in various meetings organized by the Inder leadership”.

“There were multiple spaces for dialogue designed to exchange on these and other breaches, recognized by the athlete himself, the protagonist of a behavior that showed signs of deterioration during the first half of the current year,” the text added.
