Belgians abroad: Lukaku scores in friendly against Lyon, Hazard and Courtois beat Juventus

Holder, Romelu Lukaku had a good chance on a cross from Denzel Dumfries but his header was too central for Gones goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (3rd). As Inter gained momentum and missed opportunities through Hakan Calhanoglu and Lukaku on the rebound (26th) and Lautaro Martinez (29th), Alexandre Lacazette headed in a cross from Lucas Paqueta (31st, 0-1). Rayan Cherki doubled the lead of the French (50th, 0-2) before Lukaku revived interist interests (52nd, 1-2) and Nicolo Barella put the two teams in a tie (65th, 2-2).

Real Madrid beat Juventus Turin 2-0 in a warm-up match at the legendary Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, with goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio. Thibaut Courtois played the whole game while Eden Hazard came on in the 63rd in place of Vinicius Jr.

Benzema thought to open the scoring in the eighth second, but Federico Valverde was offside at the start of the action. The Frenchman had to wait until the 19th minute to score, converting a penalty obtained by Vinicius Jr, after a tackle from Danilo, a former Real player. Asensio doubled the lead in the 69th minute, perfectly served by Jesus Vallejo in the box.

The Italian club did not target any shots of the meeting, showing that they are still in need of attackers, after the departures of Alvaro Morata, who returned to Atletico Madrid after his loan, and Paulo Dybala, who left free at AS Roma.

Juventus continue their pre-season with a game against their U-23 side on Thursday, before a clash against Atlético Madrid on August 7.

It was, however, the last warm-up match for Real, which will start its season on August 10, playing the European Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt, in a replay of the legendary 1960 C1 final, won by the Real Madrid of Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas, with the score of 7-3.

FC Barcelona ended their American tour with a 2-0 victory against the New York Red Bulls thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembélé and Memphis Depay, during a warm-up match played at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison (New Jersey).

Perfectly served by Raphinha with a blind pass, Dembélé opened the scoring with a cross shot in the 41st minute.

Robert Lewandowski had several clear chances (20th, 24th and 58th), but the Catalan rookie has still not found the net.

The Polish striker was replaced in the 73rd minute by Memphis Depay, who scored the second goal in the 87th minute after a scramble in the Red Bulls defense, reduced to 10 after Daniel Edelman was sent off five minutes earlier.

This preparation match concludes the American tour of the Catalan club, which continues its preseason with a friendly against the Pumas of Mexico, also called Pumas UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico), on August 7, a week before the resumption of the Spanish championship.

It is with this Mexican club that the Brazilian side Dani Alves has just signed up, at 39, after having replayed at Barça during the 2021-2022 season.
