The week closed in Palermo with the last two survivors in the draw, Begu and Bronzetti. The Romanian came from somewhat irregular matches, above all needing comebacks against both Oceane Dodin and Sara Sorribes, the latter in the semifinal. On her side, the Italian brought a fairly similar path, with two very comfortable first rounds but also with the obligation to reverse results in her following presentations, until reaching this final, the first of her short professional career. .

Begu is the champion in Palermo

The game began somewhat changing, with the tension that was felt on the clay of Palermo, given the importance of each game. The serve was not a solid point for either of them, and that was marked by a string of breaks in the first few games. Of those turmoil, the one that took the advantage was the Romanian, making three breaks in a row to take a 4-1 difference in numbers. Begu took that first set 6-2.

The panorama would become clearer and clearer for Irina, who again took breaks in a row also in the opening games of the second set, to get up to 3-0. Bronzetti recovered one of the breaks to dream of a possible comeback, but that illusion would vanish just a few minutes later, when the Romanian returned to widen the difference with a new break. Finally, Irina-Camelia sealed the victory with a second 6-2, to win the title in Palermo, the fifth of her career.
