Santo Domingo, Jul 14 (Prensa Latina) The XXX Pan American Junior Badminton Championship begins today in the Dominican Republic, with the participation of 350 athletes from 17 countries.
The fair, organized by the Dominican Badminton Federation with the endorsement of the Pan American Confederation, will take place in the Table Tennis Pavilion of the Parque del Este in this city and will conclude on July 22.
According to its organizers, it will compete in the sub-13, sub-15, sub-17, sub-19 and team categories.
The general director of the tournament, Generoso Castillo, stressed that the event has a tourism-cultural component, since the visiting athletes will be staying in hotels in the Colonial Zone and will enjoy a special program organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
Likewise, the director of Badminton Pan Am events, Ricardo Salamanca, pointed out the importance of the continental championship, indicating that it will award three thousand points for the world ranking.
