The level of the teams, the best in the country, has made a leap in quality to the Herbalife 3×3 Series circuit, which in this year’s edition has once again shown that this type of basketball is here to stay. The event in Barcelona closed the season, with twelve men’s and eight women’s teams fighting for the great prizes awarded by the tournament.

On the track installed in the Moll de la Marina, in the heart of Barcelona’s Olympic Port, the public has been able to enjoy the best sporting spectacle in the country. From the first games on Saturday, with a very intense women’s group stage given the importance of each match, to the three-point contests, the dunk exhibition and the duels for the title in both categories, the emotion has been unmatched.

The men’s team has offered us great moments, with close quarter-final matches until the last moments and with winning baskets of excellent quality, such as the one achieved by Guillermo Mulero for 3×3 Madrid or triple Diego de Blas which gave victory to 3×3 Pitius. The semifinals enjoyed great emotion, with Bàsquet Girona beating Bit2me Onil 3×3 and with 3×3 Madrid beating 3×3 Pitius. In the grand final, Bàsquet Girona prevailed, having starred in a perfect tournament counting all its games by victories and with a roster made up of Nacho Martin, Alex Llorca, Sergio de la Fuente and Javi Vega has closed the circuit in style.

For its part, the women’s draw has been dominated by an intractable Be Goat Team Fisióptimus La Rioja, who after beating Azuqueca 3×3 in the semifinals, got rid of a 3×3 Madrid that had eliminated thanks to a magnificent defensive effort by the great favorite: Basketball Girona. The final left a shock to remember, with a decisive extra time thanks to a penetration of Helena Oma that gave the title to his team. The set formed by María Sall, Helena Oma, Georgina Bahí and Paula Estebas has signed an immaculate path to win the final prize, beating a 3×3 Madrid team whose participation in the Master has been outstanding, putting their two teams in the finals of both categories.

The awards ceremony for the runners-up in the female category was carried out by Manuel Perez, project manager for the Herbalife 3×3 Series of Madison. For their part, the champions received the award from the hands of Gabriel Arranz, director of sporting events at Barcelona City Council. In the men’s category, Elizabeth Aguilar, director of competitions of the FEB made the delivery to the runner-up team, while Christina Delgado, responsible for sponsorships of Herbalife Nutrition, did the same with the champions.
