Yet author of a gun start (3-0), the Russian has once again fallen into his faults by getting upset many times for not much. It was enough for the new 30e world player to rush into the breach and show off his magnificent skills on ochre.
Cerundolo therefore won in two sets after 1h30 of play (6–4, 6–2) and will face the Russian Aslan Karatsev for a place in the semi-finals of the German tournament.
