No, you won’t be dreaming, Sunday May 29, 2022, if you come across practitioners of archery in the streets of Quimper. The company of Archers of the Odet (98 licensees) organizes that day a regional competition In the city center.
Its president, Maurice Douay, is delighted:

The last edition dates back to 2013. Since then, requests have been recurrent. The archers’ wish has therefore been granted.
120 participants
Maurice Douay expects 120 participants. “Among them, about a quarter regularly compete in the French championships. »
They will leave from bishop’s garden, at the foot of the Saint-Corentin cathedral. They will then go through the Providencewill go up to the peat.
Targets from 10 to 80 cm in diameter will be installed throughout this 4 km course.
24 targets
Jean-Yves Joncour, vice-president of the Archers de l’Odet, is responsible for this route. “There will be 24 targets in total, including some in the gardens of the Retreat, the music conservatory and the Max-Jacob theatre. For security reasons, these sites will be closed. All other targets will be visible to the public. »
The shooting distance varies from 10 to 60 m.
New this year: the day will end with a mixed doubles competition. This will be concentrated around the garden of the Bishop’s Palace.
