The Antwerp transfer window will, as we know, be very eventful. The Great Old are expected to bring in Toby Alderweireld to bolster their defense, and that might not be the only reinforcement in that position.
What face for the Antwerp defense under Mark Van Bommel? Obviously, the Dutch coach is not counting on Dorian Dessoleil and we already know that Toby Alderweireld will land at Bosuil. He should not be the only reinforcement in central defense. Thus, according to the NewspaperAntwerp would be very interested in a young Argentinian defender: Gaston Avila (20 ans).
Avila, left-handed, is under contract until 2024 at Boca Juniors, where he has yet to establish himself as a starter since joining in 2021. He is, however, seen as a great talent in the country and a first offer of 3, 5 million euros would have been refused by the Argentine club. The negotiations have progressed well and we are optimistic on the Antwerp side. An announcement soon?
