Nearly 2,200 minors participate in the multi-sport activities for children that the City Council of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) develops in summer to “provide alternatives for healthy leisure and coexistence for the children of Alcalá while at the same time providing aid for family reconciliation”.
The mayor of Alcalá de Guadaíra, Ana Isabel Jiménez, accompanied by the Sports delegate, Rocío Bastida, visited the participating groups on Wednesday at the facilities of the South Complex and the San Juan Pool.
“From the City Council we are launching summer activities for our minors, this year with 220 weekly places for children including sports, games and swimming pool, among many other recreational activities”. “We are committed to the objective of collaborating in reconciling work and family life and promoting healthy play environments and healthy living practices based on sport and the values of friendship, collaboration, respect or sustainability”, he indicated.
With this initiative, families are offered activities in the pool for their sons and daughters, such as swimming, aquagym, games, among others, in addition to multiple sports such as soccer, paddle tennis, volleyball, badminton, and also multisports, workshops with crafts and activities directed by zumba, or dance, and traditional and psychomotricity games. Until September 2, these activities are carried out with professional and specialized monitors, with the best conditions for the health and leisure of the little ones.
The multi-sport activities are aimed at children between 4 and 14 years old, that is, boys and girls born between 2008 and 2018. The hours of the activities are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but the offer will be in operation from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the morning classroom first thing in the morning and the ludic classroom from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In the South district and the indoor pool, 120 places are offered per week and in the sports center and the San Juan pool another 100 places per week, adapting to the demands of families who may need some weeks and not others. The prices are 30 euros per week, although there are municipal bonuses included in the ordinances such as discounts for vulnerable people and groups and specific circumstances such as large families, pensioners, people with disabilities, or a second member of the same family.
