The Intercity Baseball Tournament is a historic tournament that has continued since 1927. Many players who played an active part in urban baseball, such as Koji Chikamoto (former Osaka Gas) of Hanshin, Ryoji Kuribayashi (former Toyota Motor) of Hiroshima, and Sosuke Genda (same) of Seibu, are in the world of professional baseball.
