Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports, visited the National Men’s Basketball Team, which is preparing for the match that will be hosted by Great Britain on Sunday, July 3, during the FIBA 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
The President of the Turkish Basketball Federation Hidayet Türkoğlu and the members of the board of directors also took part in the visit at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.
Meeting and chatting with the new head coach of the A National Men’s Basketball Team, Ergin Ataman, and the players, Minister Kasapoğlu wished the national team success in the Great Britain game.
Expressing that basketball players playing in different countries of the world come together with the spirit of the national team, Kasapoğlu said, “First of all, I wish success to the new technical team and to you. Turkey is a country of sports. Basketball is a pioneering branch in terms of being a country of sports. Each of my friends here heralds a different excitement. Emphasizing that he is very hopeful for 2022 on behalf of basketball, Kasapoğlu said, “We have the World Cup qualifications and the European Championship ahead of us. I believe that you will make our 85 million citizens happy. I believe. This happiness will not be about today.
