Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy felt disrespected in the sixth inning of Thursday’s game against the Chicago White Sox. The Dodgers were 7-5 with two outs atop the sixth when Trea Turner came to bat. He succeeded Freddie Freeman, who had just played an RBI single.
Turner worked his way into a 1-2 count that clearly favors the pitcher over himself. But White Sox manager Tony La Russa didn’t care. He walked with Trea Turner on purpose to bring up Max Muncy, who is batting just a .150 this season.

Muncy didn’t like that at all. La Russa was more willing to base two runners with Muncy at plate than pitch Turner with a 1-2 counter.
Muncy worked his way up to a 2-2 count. White Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez fed him steady sliders. Muncy sat on the fifth pitch — a 90-mile slider — and strapped him 362 feet to left field.
