SANTO DOMINGO.- With 124 athletes from 30 invited countries, a prize pool of 5,000 dollars and 1,750 points for the world ranking, starting next Wednesday, June 8, the 12th version of the Santo Domingo Open International Badminton Championship will be held in the facilities of the Parque del Este Table Tennis Pavilion and under the auspices of the Pan American Confederation, the Dominican Olympic Committee, Claro and the Ministries of Health, Sports, Tourism and Culture.

This was reported by Generoso Castillo, general secretary of the Dominican Badminton Federation (FEDOBAD), who after presenting the National team that will represent the nation, stressed that the event, which will run from June 8 to 12, will serve as a test for the 30th Junior Pan American Championship (considered the largest event in the Americas) that will also be held at the Table Tennis Pavilion, from July 14 to 22.

The athletes presented were Daniel Acosta, Ernick Zorrilla, Nairoby Jiménez, Clarisa Pie, Juleisy Acosta and Yonatan Linarez, along with coaches Miguel Feliz and Rafael Santín.
