Wimbledon: Serena Williams wears patches on her face – the US star suffers from sinusitis

After twelve months it’s that time again: Serena Williams is making her long-awaited comeback. With a wild card, number 1204 qualified for the prestigious lawn tournament in London.

As with her doubles appearance alongside Ons Jabeur at Eastbourne, numerous observers noticed the patches on Williams’ right cheekbone.

The reason is by no means fashionable. As early as 2007, the seven-time Wimbledon winner spoke of her sinus problems.
