Wimbledon: Djokovic breaks the historic mark in Grand Slam tournaments and leaves Federer and Nadal behind

What Djokovic had previously achieved at the French Open (85 wins), the Australian Open (82 wins) and the US Open (81 Open), the 35-year-old has now also achieved at the All England Club.

“In the current phase of my career, I’m trying to play my best tennis, especially in Grand Slams. I’ve made 80, now I’m tackling 100,” said the third in the world rankings in the on-court interview with a smile on his lips.

In the leaderboard of players with the most wins in a single Grand Slam, Djokovic is in the top ten four times.

“This sport has given me everything and I owe it a lot. I love it with all my heart, my passion is unbroken. Of course I’m not a youngster anymore, but the love for this sport still burns in my heart,” said Djokovic .

Djokovic is ahead of Federer and Nadal

Roger Federer broke the mark of 80 victories in Wimbledon (105), Melbourne (102) and in New York (89), but not at the French Open in Paris (73).

Record Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, only managed this feat in Roland-Garros. The Spaniard not only won 14 titles in Paris, but also a total of 112 matches, which is the absolute record for a single Grand Slam.
