Vienna Metrostars celebrate sensational comeback victory

In the Baseball Bundesliga, the Vienna Metrostars celebrated a brilliant success against the Schwechat Blue Bats.

The Vienna Metrostars defended their fourth place in the East division with a 14:11 home win over the Schwechat Blue Bats. After the split on Saturday, it was the second win for the Viennese this weekend. Ten runs in the eighth inning were decisive.

The game between the Blue Bats and the Metrostars went back and forth several times. The Lower Austrians scored in the first inning, but this lead didn’t last long as the Metrostars immediately scored three runs themselves. But this 3:1 only lasted until the third inning, in which the guests promptly equalized again. A solo and a 3-run home run by Matthew Jensen then contributed to an 11-4 lead that left the visitors looking like certain winners.

But that was not the case: The Metrostars hit five singles and two doubles shortly before the end of the 8th inning, which ultimately led to ten runs and turned the game completely upside down. The game ended at 14:11 and the Metrostars defended their fourth place in the table.
