Gennaro Gattuso is already working to prepare for the 2022/23 season, despite the fact that he still cannot count on his players. The Valencia footballers enjoy their holidays until July 4, the day on which the physical and medical tests for the squad will begin. From there, the preseason will start to prepare for the start of the league, which is set for August 12.
The team will work for just over a week at the facilities of the sports city of Paterna. It will not be the entire squad, since the internationals will join days later. As of July 15, Valencia will travel to Switzerland, where it will remain until the 23rd and will presumably play 3 games. One of them has been confirmed by the club itself and will be on July 23 at 3:30 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Arena against VFB Stuttgart.

In Switzerland, as the newspaper ‘As’ reported, Valencia will stay at the four-star Santispark hotel in the city of Saint Gallen, which has all the necessary amenities such as a spa, swimming pool and sports activities (tennis, squash, badminton or bowling). Curiously, it is the same place where Marcelino García Toral’s Athletic team was last year. Those from Gattuso will train at the facilities of the modest FC Abtwill Engelburd team, which has two training fields located approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

A quiet place, in a natural area, which will allow you to prepare for a week of training away from Valencia. The club recovers this custom after last year with Bordalás the Alicante preferred to stay closer, in Oliva. It is not the first time that Valencia travels to Switzerland since in the 2019 preseason with Marcelino they were in Crans Montana.
