Unbelievable, but true: Eden Hazard is still Chelsea’s top scorer in the league for 4 years

Eden Hazard left Chelsea through the front door in the summer of 2019. The Brainois made the heyday of the Blues and left a club and a championship that he put at his feet.

Three years later, Eden’s imprint is still present in his former club. The Squawka site, specialized in statistics, raised a rather flattering stat for the captain of the Red Devils.

Since the 2017/18 season, no Chelsea player has scored more goals than Eden Hazard, not counting penalties, in the league.

Thus, Mason Mount (arrived in 2019) has scored as much in three years as Eden in his last two seasons with the Blues. Tammy Abraham (left for AS Roma at the start of this 21/22 season) scored once less than our compatriot. Since the 2017/18 season taken as a reference by Squawka, Abraham only played the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons for Chelsea, he was on loan to other clubs the rest of the time.

The statistics site likes to make a comparison with Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling, who has scored 75 goals (without penalties) in the league since the start of the 2017/18 season.

Since leaving Chelsea, the physical struggles have followed for the Devil. After three disappointing years, today he seems to be back and hopes well “return to what it was before“.
