Two new sports at TSV Erding – Erding

TSV Erding is at the start with two new offers. From June 21st, Erding’s largest sports club will be offering the sword fighting art Shinkendo and the self-defence Goshin-Jitsu. Pupils who do not have any plans during the Pentecost holidays can complete a three-day introductory course. In order to facilitate the integration of refugees from the Ukraine, the TSV also offers refugees free membership in the TSV and its departments for one year.

Budo is the generic term for the two new Japanese sports and the trainer is not unknown outside of the club either. Peter Felber, born in 1959, married, two children and retired police inspector since 2020, has made a name for himself through courses at the adult education center in Erding. The Japanese sword art Shinkendo consists of Shin (serious), Ken (sword) and Do (path), as TSV President Rainer Winter writes. The holistic system includes the promotion of body, mind and soul and was founded by Master Kaiso Toshishiro Obata. “Regular training sharpens the mind and deepens coordination and willpower,” says Winter. It is practiced with a wooden sword, the Bokken.

According to Rainer Winter, Goshin-Jitsu is the art of self-defence in general, close combat, realistic self-defence “for practice”. Fast, hard close combat techniques and effective lever applications are trained here. Virtually any tool can be used to support – depending on the current situation in the “street fight”. From umbrellas to ballpoint pens to belts or scarves. According to the TSV President, trainer Peter Felber (Goshin-Jitsu 7th Dan) not only focuses on self-defence, but also on building self-confidence and self-assertion. There is a taster course for children during the Pentecost holidays

Those who decide quickly can take part in the children’s holiday program during the Whitsun holidays to get started and get to know Goshin-Jitsu. Three days of 90 minutes each from 10.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 7th, 8th and 9th are currently planned. The focus is on self-assertion, communication, conflict resolution (including role-playing) and the first simple techniques from Goshin-Jitsu. The course takes place in the Judo-Dojo TSV clubhouse, Am Stadion 12, Erding. Fee: five euros for TSV members, ten euros for non-members. New sport, new logo and new website and the restaurant is revamped too

In addition to the new range of sports, TSV Erding, with around 2,500 members, also has a new website and a new logo. “Together with the Erdinger web and design agency Gin Tanic and with the help of many hard-working members of the TSV, we not only redesigned the website, we also gave the club a new, fresh logo,” explains Winter. Navigation to the individual departments is now “faster and more intuitive”. The pictures of the Officials in the individual departments have been updated and the e-mail addresses for contacting them have been standardized.

According to Rainer Winter, TSV has also invested in the club’s “Restaurant am Swimmingpool”. For this purpose, the club has revamped and roofed over the outdoor terrace, “so that now nobody has to flee into the dry with their plate in their hands, even if it suddenly rains”.
