TotalEnergies and convicted Alexandre Geniez split up | cycling

The Rodez court sentenced Alexandre Geniez in March to a four-month suspended prison term. He also had to pay a symbolic compensation of one euro. The facts, which Geniez denied, took place from February 2020 to November 2021.

Geniez previously announced that he wanted to stop cycling at the end of 2022. That decision seems to be brought forward by a few months, because TotalEnergies has dismissed the Frenchman’s contract.

The 34-year-old Geniez won 3 stages in the Vuelta during his career. As a professional he rode for Skil-Shimano (2010-2011), Argos-Shimano (2012), FDJ (2013-2016), AG2R La Mondiale (2017-2020) and Total (2021-2022).
