Tom Pietermaat finds shelter with Patro Eisden Maasmechelen after leaving Beerschot | Lower classes

2 weeks ago, the departure of Tom Pietermaat caused bad blood among Beerschot supporters. The midfielder has now found a new challenge with Patro Eisden Maasmechelen in the 1st national.

The 29-year-old midfielder was the longest serving player at Beerschot and was promoted with the club from 4th division to 1A.

Last season Pietermaat was still a basic player at the Kiel. “Beerschot wanted to continue with him, so we regret that he did not want to respect his current contract,” Beerschot reported.

This met with indignation among the Beerschot fans. “In such a way you do not say goodbye to a player who has experienced 4 promotions,” angry fans wrote on social media.

Pietermaat is now going to work for Patro Eisden Maasmechelen, who comes out in 1st national.
