Between July 9 and 19, in São Paulo, Brazil, the Copa América for women’s adapted basketball will be held, a qualifier for the Dubai World Cup to be played in November, and Carlos Cardarelli, coach of the Argentine National Team and the Center for the Disabled de La Matanza (CEDIMA), confirmed the list of twelve athletes who will represent the country and, among which, there are three players from the entity from Matanzas.
Liz Paré, Morena Coria and Vanesa Rubiola will be the representatives of the District in the continental contest and will share the competition with the same girls who got the South American runner-up in CeNARD, at the end of last year.
“For us it is a pride that, coaches and athletes of CEDIMA, represent Argentina in the world. It is time to begin to become aware of the gigantic prestige that CEDIMA has through our sport in the national and international context, especially through our sports representatives, leaders, specialized coaches, international classifiers, representations and countless events and participations through through 53 years of history on five continents,” said Leonardo Mariño, president of the institution.
In that sense, he added: “It was not magic. It is the fruit of the effort and teamwork of each member of CEDIMA.”
