Interviewed by Sports world, Ariedo Braida, an adviser to former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, returned to FC Barcelona’s failure in the Erling Haaland case and explained why Barça did not recruit the younger Norwegian international. The former Blaugrana boss claimed the Catalan club had been following the 21-year-old Norwegian striker for several years but hadn’t been signed because he hadn’t “the profile of a Barça player”according to some members of the Barcelona staff.
“He was in the Norwegian Under-21s and I liked players like that, I said he had great potential, but they told me that the profile of a Barca player was different”said Ariedo Braida about Haaland who is finally committed to Manchester City this summerdespite FC Barcelona’s interest in him.
