The Thetford Pirates… in a nutshell!

Two teams from the Thetford Minor Baseball Association were in action over the past few days.

The Pirates 11U B1 suffered a setback on Saturday in Saint-Elzéar, 5-2 against Le Torrents 3, Beauce-Nord. Special mention to Olivier Lessard who hit two innings in a row as a pitcher.

The Pirates 11U B2 were in action on Wednesday against the Beauce-Centre Cardinals-3 in Tring-Jonction. Tight match which ended with the score of 6 to 5 for the adversary. Saturday, visit to the Jays 2 Tremac, south of Beauce in St-Georges. Victory of 8 to 3, great performance for Elie Dumont who scored a triple in the 4th set.

Finally, last Wednesday, the Adapted Baseball Challenger program season began at Parc Martinet in Thetford. More than 25 registrations are recorded this year. Adaptive baseball takes place thanks to the Toronto Blue Jays Foundation, Jays Care Foundation. Baseball is a pretext to bring together people with physical or intellectual limitations in order to create links between players, socialize, increase their self-confidence, develop a feeling of belonging to a group in particular, while moving. Games will take place at Parc Martinet every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
