The first edition of Sports Day It will be held next Saturday, June 11, from 08:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Paseo de la Estación, the Parque Deportivo and the Candalix. It is an event created by the Department of Sports to celebrate the return to normality after two years and honor the practice of sport in, as its managers say, one of the cities with the most participation in the country.
sports day In addition to including activities that will bring together all the companies and main actors of grassroots, health and high-performance sports in the citywill also have an exhibition of historical sports photography taken from the archives of the Pedro Ibarra Chair and Santiago Gambín’s History of Sports.
It will also be held during the event, with free admission, the closing ceremony of the 40th edition of Els Jocs Esportius which will award 108 prizes to the top 3 finishers of the specialties of futsal, soccer 8, multisport, volleyball, basketball, judo and handball.
As for the planned activities, the existing sports programs for adults such as yoga, aerobics, body combat or Nordic walking will be completed. Also both children and adults can enjoy aquagym, water polo, duathlon, biathlon, spinning and stationary bike races in the Sports Park and Candalix. 1,500 boys and girls are expected to attend.
