The Shaker on forced leave

The beginning of the 44e Puribec Senior Baseball League season is disrupted by Mother Nature.

Again this weekend, three of the six games on the schedule were postponed due to rain. So far, 6 of the 17 scheduled games have been postponed due to rain.

This was the case for the Shaker’s visit to Trois-Pistoles on Saturday evening. The two teams have moved the match to Tuesday evening, 7:35 p.m. Mathieu Gobeil will be on the mound for the Rimouski formation (0-3), still looking for a first victory. This is also the case for the young team of the Basques (0-3).

Friday night in Témiscouata, the Bérubé GM delivered a very good fight to the Braves Batitech losing 11-8. The score was 8-8 in the middle of 6e sleeve. Patrick Ouellet produced four runs for the winners. The victory went to the file of Dany Paradis-Giroux, in succession.

The other two clashes opposed Grand-Sault and Rivière-du-Loup. Friday night, CIEL-FM delighted its supporters by crushing its rivals by 20-1. The new imported player, Jérôme Duchesneau, did not miss his comeback with four hits in four, five runs scored, three home runs and nine RBIs!

Sunday in Grand Falls, the Cataractes got their revenge with a 7-5 win over Koby Midgley who went the distance.

The Shaker will conclude its week on Saturday in New Brunswick. He will play in Grand Falls in the afternoon and in Edmundston in the evening.
