A fight

You organized the event in partnership with Colosse aux pieds d’argile, a first in La Manche. How was this initiative decided?
It was Patrick Bellot, the president of the Manche Judo committee, who had the idea, and we followed. I found the idea excellent. We must talk about these subjects, learn to detect and react. We work with children and have a responsibility. We have no figures, but it exists. Protect the victims!

How can these acts be prevented?
It’s difficult. But some rules must be systematic. For example, never be left alone with a child. Facilitator, referee, volunteers or president must have their changing rooms. Cities must therefore equip sports facilities accordingly. And we must do prevention by organizing this kind of operation which frees speech.

How ? Each sport has its specificities…
It’s true. It’s hard to move the committees, which are often overwhelmed… But we have to react, by organizing this kind of initiative, for example. Let’s work in partnership with Colossi with feet of clay, let’s free the floor, take the subject head-on! It must. And if it’s not at the national level, it has to come from the committees.
