The Judo-club celebrated its 50th anniversary on the tatami

In the presence of Nathalie Nury, mayor, elected officials and many parents, the Judo-club, chaired by Philippe Savreux, celebrated its fifty years of existence on Saturday June 11, in the gymnasium. A perfect organization on all fronts, carried by Mireille Savreux who received hearty applause.

“We have 251 judokas at the club, including 100 girls! It’s exceptional!”, noted Mireille Savreux in a welcome speech. Judo, ju jitsu and taïso from Sauveterre and Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres were also invited to the party.

The club was created by Jacques Guillemaud in 1971, a teacher until 1981, before Jean Cotrelle succeeded him. For thirty-seven years, Mireille Savreux has been its teacher.

On the program of this day, passage of ranks from the smallest to the largest, with a black belt for Carolyne Cottaz and Maxime Champetier, an honorary title based on a quality of work within the club and competitions. Good results are also to be noted with four judokas selected for the French 2nd division championship. The youngest Sarah Pochon, after having won her fights in the pool, lost in the final. Alexandre Stoliarov and Anaïs Champetier “who have fought very well but do not come out in the final phase”, and Carolyne Cottaz “who won all his fights by ippon” and lost in the quarter-finals.

The lub knows solidarity and conviviality surrounded by benevolent coaches who participate in this beautiful family atmosphere. To add panache to the anniversary, the Gardoise Shirine Boukli, European champion in – 48 kg kindly lent herself to the individual photo with each judoka.
