The Israeli women’s team expected in Morocco for a friendly match

The Israeli women’s basketball team will travel to Morocco next week for a friendly match. The Israeli players will face their Moroccan counterparts in Casablanca, the Israeli media reported on Thursday iNews24.

According to the same source, the Israel Basketball Federation will also sign a cooperation agreement with the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB). “This is the first time an official delegation from the Israel Basketball Federation has visited an Arab country to sign a cooperation agreement,” it said.

In a statement to the Israeli media, the head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco, David Govrin described a “successful” record for the first year of the normalization agreement between Morocco and Israel, recalling that “several agreements and memoranda have been signed, in several economic, sporting and cultural fields”. “We have also set up several working groups to translate this dynamic into action,” he said.

In a press release published tuesday, the FRMBB announced that the national coach Fayçal Ghannam has summoned 26 basketball players for a preparation course which will be spread over two periods (June 7 to 10 and June 10 to 18), alongside the next Arab meetings and continental. The same source also announced a set of friendly meetings in Morocco and abroad.

It should be recalled that the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation and the Israel Basketball Federation signed, at the beginning of January, a historic cooperation agreement covering all areas, professional, educational, sports health, social and sports, during a meeting held by videoconference, between the president of the FRMBB, Mustapha Aourach and his counterpart Amiram Halevi.
