“The gap between Curry and LeBron? It is the size of the Grand Canyon”

Now tied with LeBron James in titles, is Stephen Curry just as great a legend of the game as the Laker? The debate has been raging for a few days… However, a famous analyst wanted to put an end to these discussions.

To say that the prize list of Stephen Curry is impressive would probably be an understatement. Thanks to this year’s coronation with Golden State, he now has four championship rings, two regular season MVPs and one Finals, all accompanied by two league scoring titles. And that’s not counting his countless three-point records that make him the best all-time shooter, without question.

His CV is enough to make more than one pale, and some observers even think that he will overtake LeBron James next year. At least in terms of the number of titles won, because for the rest, the debate is much fiercer. Colin Cowherd notably took a stand on the subject recently, clearly displaying support for the King. For him, we can’t put Baby Face and the winger in the same discussion, because the second is in a world apart:

Colin Cowherd defending LeBron against Steph Curry

You gonna tell me you wanna put Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic at the same club as LeBron? You must have a VIP room upstairs with only LeBron in it. (…) The gap between Steph and Tatum is the Grand Canyon, the gap between LeBron and Steph is the Grand Canyon. You can’t just put guys in there because they’ve had two really good years in a row and they’re All-Stars. There are many movies with movie stars, but there is only one Tom Cruise…

The reference to the movie star is not insignificant, his last film Top Gun : Maverick just got out. Coming back to the orange ball, we can understand the reasoning of the journalist from Fox Sports. The Chef does indeed have a breathtaking track record, but it’s just as indisputable that L-Train’s is even greater. What could be more logical, since he landed in the league six years before the Warrior. StatMuse has also measured the gap between the two in terms of trophy cabinet:

It’s going to be a subject in the days to come, so you might as well put things right now. Here is the difference between LeBron and Steph:

2 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs, 10 All-Star Game appearances, 10 All-NBA Team nominations, 6 All-NBA Defensive Team nominations.

For the moment, Colin Cowherd categorically refuses to put LeBron James and Stephen Curry on the same pedestal. If the Warrior goes back-to-back next year, however, that could change in no time, as it would then have more championship rings than the Chosen One.
