The Czech judge cut us and ran to the cabins, the Slovaks are angry after being eliminated from the championship

Thursday’s elimination of Slovak footballers from the domestic European football championship in Košice had a very wild aftermath. Ladislav Borbély’s charges fell after a 0: 1 defeat with Azerbaijan and then became angry with the Czech judge.

In the 39th minute, the Azerbaijani striker fell in front of Slovakia’s goal and the young Czech border judge Matěj Kubečka ordered a penalty kick. Elvin Alizada transformed and took care of the only match of the match, which eliminated the national team from the championship.

The Slovak coach was furious after the match and wanted an explanation. From his point of view, it was not a penalty, but a clearly filmed fall of the attacker.

“Why do such inexperienced young people go to such an event, who then run to the bowels of the stadium before confronting each other?” Borbély complained.

Slovak football judge Ľuboš Micheľ, who co-commented on the match on television, also saw the referee’s mistake live. “The Czech referee cut us,” he complained.

Azerbaijan eventually finished the match in weakness, but thanks to a fragmented game full of emotions, he already maintained the lead and advanced to the semifinals.

“We were ineffective. The referee’s intervention caused emotional imbalances in the boys, affected their experience of the match, made them feel anxious,” Borbély said.

The Slovaks thus ended up at the gates of fighting for medals, just like the Czechs, who lost in a penalty shootout with Romania.
