BASEBALL. In the doubleheader between the two great rivals from the Eastern Townships on Saturday (June 11), the Guerriers de Granby emerged victorious by taking their eighth and ninth victory of the season, thus taking the lead in the center division.

The first game ended with a score of 9 to 6 in favor of Granby. Coaticook had the lead in that game until an offensive spree broke out in the seventh inning and the Warriors scored four runs that the Rocket were unable to tie.

The Rocket were slightly closer to the goal in Game 2, as they slipped away 9-7. Despite the loss, Coaticook recorded 12 hits to eight for the Guerriers.

Among the plays that made the difference was a triple from Kirkland Fryer in the fifth inning that allowed him to drive in three runs and gave his people momentum.

The Rocket will have the opportunity to recover on Monday (June 13), when they will visit the Ducs de Longueuil.
