The Coaticook Rocket loses 6-2 against Granby

BASEBALL. At the Napoléon-Fontaine stadium, in an Estrie clash between the Guerriers de Granby and the Rocket de Coaticook, it was the Guerriers who deserved the victory by winning 6 to 2, Tuesday evening (June 21) .

It was just 2-0 for Granby until the sixth inning, when the Rocket tied the game 2-2. But in the bottom of the sixth, the locals exploded with four runs for their 11th win in 19 games. this season.

Maxime Chateigner had two hits and two RBIs in the win. Note two runs scored, one RBI and one hit for Samuel Archambault as well.

On the mound, veteran Jeffrey Dupont (4-1) (on the picture) came on to pitch an inning and two-thirds in relief late in the game and gave up just one hit, earning a fourth win this season. For Coaticook, it was starter Charles Trépanier (0-1) who suffered the loss after giving up six earned runs on eight hits in five and two-thirds innings.

With this win, Granby has a one-game lead over Coaticook at the top of the Center Division, with both teams being the only ones in the division to have a record above .500 so far.

The Rocket will be able to resume on Saturday (June 25), when it will host the LaSalle Cards for a double program at the Julien-Morin stadium, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
