Cai Qichang, the chairman of the secondary vocational school, said that he believed that after the addition of the Taigang Eagles, the competition combination will be more diverse, and it is expected that the professional baseball pie will be bigger.
The addition of Taigang this time has allowed the secondary vocational school to return to the scale of 6 teams after 14 years. At present, there are Wei Quanlong in Taipei City, Fubon in New Taipei City, Lotte in Taoyuan City, CITIC in Taichung, and Unity in Tainan City. With the addition of Taigang, it is the first time that the secondary vocational school has teams in all six cities in Taiwan.
Cai Qichang attended the press conference of Taigang Eagle joining the secondary vocational school on the 8th. In his speech, he said that it has been a long time for the secondary vocational school to return to the glory of the 6th team. The combination will be more diverse, it will attract more fans and friends to watch the game, and it can take care of more coaches, players, and team service related personnel, which is very helpful for related employment.
Cai Qichang said that the Kaohsiung City Government has always hoped to have a local team that belongs to Kaohsiung. In the future, the Taigang Eagles will use the Chong Lake Baseball Stadium as their home ground. The city government and the team will invest in the reconstruction of the stadium. Fans demand, “to manage Kaohsiung and Pingtung markets well”. He believes that in the future, the Taigang Eagles can cultivate more fans in high-screen areas and expand the professional baseball pie.
Xie Yumin, chairman of Taigang Group, said that after Taigang expressed its willingness to join the secondary vocational school, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai immediately invited him to meet with the city government, hoping that Taigang could settle in Kaohsiung, and during the meeting, he felt that Mayor Chen was very enthusiastic about the occupation. Great enthusiasm and support, so choose Kaohsiung as the home.
He said that after Taigang officially joined the secondary vocational school, it will work with the Kaohsiung City Government to renovate the Clarifying Lake Stadium. Guided by “safety, comfort, technology, and entertainment”, he hopes to build Kaohsiung into a new baseball paradise in southern Taiwan.
