Shapovalov stirs up Queen’s: “It is ironic that it is called that and that women continue to be discriminated against”

Denis Shapovalov has exploded against the organization of the tournament of Queen’s, leaving a strong message through their social networks. Despite being eliminated in the second round of the tournament after chaining his fifth consecutive loss, that would not be the reason for his frustration, but the situation experienced by women who cannot train at their facilities in the face of Wimbledon.

Although the measure is motivated by the limitation of courts in the facilities of the Queen’s club, the Canadian tennis player does not see logic that the women who dispute the tournament cannot train and the mens who are falling eliminated do have the secondary courts to prepare for Wimbledon, which takes place a week later. He would make it very clear through his social networks.

“It is ironic that the Queen’s Tennis Club is named after a powerful and extraordinary woman and yet is still discriminating women by not letting them train at the club when they need to prepare for Wimbledon,” she cried.

A complaint that is added to the one made public days ago by the Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk regarding the difference in prize money between the WTA 500 of Berlinwhich distributes just under 100,000 euros to the winner, and the ATP 500 of Halle, which awards 400,000 euros to the champion. “Are we really that bad?” she complained.
