Several teams show interest in Nico Batum

Los Angeles Clippers forward Nicolas Batum has declined his $3.3 million player option for the 2022-23 season, making him an unrestricted free agent. Even so, both parties are expected to work to close a new agreement, which could last for two seasons, according to the media. Yahoo Sports.

However, several teams will try to tempt the player to remove him from the Clippers’ discipline. According to information from journalist Chris Haynes, the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz are interested in incorporating the veteran French player into their ranks.

Batum, 33, has completed his two seasons with the Los Angeles franchise at a good level, regaining his status as a versatile player on both ends of the floor. Plus, he’s become a favorite in the locker room thanks to his selfless play and his ability to mesh with the project’s two cornerstones, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The forward played 54 games in the 2021-22 academic year, in which he averaged 8.3 points and 4.3 rebounds.
