The new mayor arch. Peppe Dimartinoelected on Sunday with 1,306 votes out of 4,947, he officially appointed his own council.
The four assessors are:
- the councilor Francesco Dimartino, former councilor and councilor for several years. He will have the responsibility for the territory – environment – municipal police – cemetery services-villages;
- councilor Caterina Gambino, former opposition councilor in the last five years, will be in charge of social services – immigration – events and entertainment – tourism – youth policies;
- Davide Mandarà, will have the responsibility for agriculture-economic development-sport-urban planning;
- Mariateresa (called Stefania) Barone, on the other hand, will have the delegation to public education-culture-innovation and digitization as well as urban decor.
The first civic meeting will be held at Palazzo del Cigno, which was convened by the outgoing president of the council Dr. Piero Mandarà, for Monday 27 cm
The municipal council is made up of 8 councilors elected with the winning list “Change Verso” who will form the majority: in addition to the two councilors mentioned above there will be: Antonio Micieli, (the most voted with 352 preferences), Concetta Cilia, Luca Agnello, (former councilor of the outgoing opposition) Roberta Iacono, Giuseppe Zisa, Melissa Ferrera; and the 4 elected for the opposition, coming from the “Together for Santa Croce” list: the aforementioned Piero Mandarà, as candidate for mayor who finished second, with the three most voted on his list, namely Alessio Mandarà, Eva Fidone and Gaetano Riva .
