The duel of tennis generations between 23-year-old Ruud and 33-year-old Čilič over who will challenge the legendary Spaniard Rafael Nadal in Sunday’s final was interrupted by an environmental activist for about a quarter of an hour.
During the third set, the woman ran on Philipp Chatrier’s Court and strapped herself to the net. Both tennis players then headed to the locker rooms until the organizers managed to remove the activist from the court and take him out of the arena.
The duel continued after a short break. Ruud finally celebrated the progress to the finals after winning 3: 6, 6: 4, 6: 2, 6: 2.
