The Guggenberger Legionnaires didn’t miss a beat in the second game of the afternoon against the Mannheim Tornados. The 14:4 from game one was followed by a 7:1 win for the legionnaires in the second meeting at the Roberto-Clemente-Field in Mannheim.

The table leader from the Upper Palatinate was able to build on a strong pitching performance from Sven Schüller. Schüller stayed on the pitching mound for 7 2/3 innings, allowing just one run after a solo homer by Matias Robles in the eighth inning. At this point, the Regensburg offensive had already made things clear. After 3-run rallies in the second and third innings, the game was practically decided in favor of the legionnaires. The highlight of Regensburg’s offensive efforts was Elias Von Garßen’s 3-run home run in the third inning. In addition to Von Garßen, Alexander Schmidt was also able to distinguish himself with two hits and two RBI’s in Regensburg’s offensive.

Juan Martin, who stood on the mound for the entire duration of the game, conceded the loss for the inferior Tornados (12H, 7R, 6ER, 2BB, 3K).
