Portugal consolidated their lead in the Swiss group of the Nations League with a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic in Lisbon.
The Czechs sold their skin to the 2016 European champions a bit more expensively than the Swiss did in last Sunday’s 4-0 defeat. But at least they created two good chances when it was still 0-0, so they could have taken the lead.
Portugal won for once without a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. In his place, Manchester City defender João Cancelo and Valencia forward Gonçalo Guedes scored within five minutes of the first half.

Nothing worth mentioning happened after the break. In their third match in a short space of time, the Portuguese controlled everything without any apparent effort. The Czechs had no real chance for the connecting goal.
