After winning a gold medal in women’s water polo and gymnastics; she has a silver medal in judo and squash; and bronze in shooting, men’s volleyball and men’s water polo, the Peruvian delegation has, so far, a total of 44 medals at the XIX Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games, which are held in Colombia.
The national delegation continues to confirm the good moment it is going through, standing out, this Tuesday, in collective sports, achieving a gold medal for the women’s water polo team and bronze medals for the men’s volleyball and men’s water polo teams.
The gold medal of the gymnast Edward González, the silver medal of the mixed team of judo and men’s doubles in squash; and the third place in shooting by Alexia Arenas and Cristian Morales in the 10m Air Rifle Modality. Mixed.
Peru in women’s water polo won Venezuela in the group phase 16-13, then beat Colombia 13-11 and in the final phase they beat the Colombians again 7-6 and in the last match they equaled 13-13 with Venezuela and made the accumulated score and goal difference to win the gold medal.
At night, in a heart-stopping final, the men’s squash duo made up of Diego Elías and Alonso Escudero fell to Colombians Juan Camilo and Andrés Felipe 2-1 and won the bronze medal.
With these triumphs Peru was awarded, last Tuesday, 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals adding 7 medals, setting in the general medal table 11 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze medals, closing the day with 44 prizes.
The Peruvian Sports Institute and the Peruvian Olympic Committee congratulate the Peruvian delegation for their triumphs and the effort put into each competition.
Peru, which is fourth in the general table, so far, behind Colombia, Venezuela and Chile, this Wednesday has possibilities of gold medals in badminton and softball, also counting on shooting and golf competitions.
