The news surprised the Garay street club, which expected to meet around this time to start talking about a possible extension of the contract.
However, Ramella had already been clear last week in an extensive interview with LA CAPITAL, admitting that he was interested in the possibility of doing some experience abroad and that he had already been called from abroad.
Ramella, who also knew how to manage Quilmes at the time, worked for a year and a half as Peñarol’s coach. He arrived midway through the 2020/2021 season to replace Charles Roman.
And in this latest edition of the League, with a low-budget squad, they always put up a fight at the forefront and ended up eliminated in the quarterfinals at the hands of Boca Juniors.
In total, Ramella directed during 71 games, with a record of 40 wins and 31 losses to round off a 56.3% effectiveness rate.
