Pair of bronzes in Judo for Veracruz – Al Calor Deportivo

Close first phase with three gold metals; This Saturday the Sub 20 category continues

Two bronze medals were obtained by Veracruz in the closing of the first phase of the judo discipline in the CONADE 2022 Nationals, which takes place in the Multiple Use Center in the Northwest Sports Unit in Hermosillo.

On this second day, it was the turn of the Under 18 category, where the Veracruz judokas Jesús Alexis Rodríguez Gaspar and Mauro Alexander Guatemala García, climbed on the winners’ podium by hanging third place medals for the state of Veracruz.

The first medal obtained was for Jesús Alexis Rodríguez Gaspar in the Sub 18 minus 73 kilograms category. While the second medal was obtained by Mauro Alexander Guatemala García in Sub 18 more than 90 kilograms.

“I have been preparing for this event for a year, I am happy with the result I obtained. The fights were very complicated, I was underweight and it got complicated for me”, commented Jesús Rodríguez.

And he added that this medal is dedicated to his family “who always supports me and my coach Diego Huerta and my Honokai club.

The director of the Veracruz Sports Institute, José Alberto Nava Lozano, was in the stands observing and supporting each one of the combats of the Veracruz judokas. Likewise, he was in charge of awarding the medalists accompanying Erubiel Durazo, director of the Sonora Sports Commission, as well as the director of the Tlaxcala Sports Institute, Madaí Pérez.

In this first stage of judo, Veracruz finished with three bronze medals. This Saturday the judo actions will end at the Sonora headquarters, with the participation of the Sub 20 category in women and men.
